My sister is almost deathly afraid of spiders: she is literally unable to move if she sees one, even if it’s across the room from her. She’s been this way as long as I can remember. One time around Halloween when we were teens, I tucked a black-painted cottonball-and-pipecleaner spider under her pillow. That night as we went to bed, a blood-curdling scream was heard throughout our neighborhood!
If she happens upon a spider these days, she has her husband or one of her kids kill it. I totally understand her need to have this done, but I personally prefer a more humane approach. For years, when any bug has been found in my home, the call has gone out, “get a jar!”. When my oldest son was two years old, I kept the jars in the cabinet at his level so that he could quickly get one while I kept an eye on the offending insect. Once trapped, (as typical homeschoolers) we studied the bug. :-D And we usually released it before it died.
But sometimes those buggers are hard to catch! They might be in an awkward area or too high to reach (I just hate it when there’s a spider on my ceiling in my bedroom - I just can’t go to sleep knowing it’s there). And some people (like my sister) just don’t want to get as close as you need to to catch them with a jar. ;-) That’s when the Brainstorm Spider Catcher comes in handy!
The World’’s friendliest way to catch spiders! Now you can remove them (and other bugs) without harming them, while keeping yourself at a safe distance!! The Spider Catcher uses two sets bristles to gently catch the insect, carefully trapping it until you release it outside.
The Spider Catcher is just over 2 feet long, which is long enough to keep you at a comfortable distance while you pick up and transport the spider or insect to a safe relocation. Just squeeze the trigger at one end and the bristles at the other end open. Position it over the bug and quickly let go of the trigger, and the bug is harmlessly trapped. It makes it so much easier to reach awkward places ( i.e. corners, ceilings), too. No matter how good a jar is at *holding* a bug, it’s very difficult to catch a bug that has positioned itself in the corner of your bathroom ceiling (I also hate spiders sharing my shower with me).
It seems to me that this would be a useful product in EVERY household, but for people who are terrified of spiders, they may want a Brainstorm Spider Catcher in every room! :-)
