Who am I?
I’m a stay at home mom, home educating my three kids. I live a natural lifestyle, as much as is possible on our little budget, but I have *always* been interested in technology.
I think this comes from my dad; we were always one of the first families to have the latest technological gadgets. We had a microwave years before it was common for families to have (friends never believe me when I tell them we had one 30 years ago :-)). Friends came to our house to watch movies on our VCR - what an amazing technology at the time! Walkmans - my sisters and I each got one as soon as they came out. An Atari game system, a home computer (what did we do on that thing?)… I got a stereo for my 16th birthday that had a button for “CD” on the remote before I even knew what a CD was. They certainly weren’t available in our community at the time. :-) And for high school graduation I got a word processor; I used this in my dorm room in college and was SO grateful I didn’t have to wait in line for the typewriters at the Student Union or the computer lab!
However, not all “gadgets” are new technology. As defined by dictionary.com, a gadget is just a device that is useful for a particular job. And there are so many products in the marketplace that make parents lives easier in so many ways: saving them time, space or money. Who couldn’t use that?
During my time spent on the internet, watching TV or reading magazines, I often come across these great gadgets, and when I see something that I find really beneficial, I want to tell everybody about it.
So that’s who I am, and that’s why I started this site. I hope you find much information here that is valuable to you and your family!
